StarCraft is a military science fiction media franchise created by Chris Metzen and James Phinney and owned by Blizzard Entertainment. The series, set in the beginning of the 26th century, centers on a galactic struggle for dominance among four species—the adaptable and mobile Terrans, the ever-evolving insectoid Zerg, the powerfully enigmatic Protoss, and the godlike Xel'Naga creator race. Starcraft offers a lengthy single-player campaign featuring ten missions for its three diverse races, totaling 30 single-player missions in all (there's also an unsupported veteran campaign.

StarCraft: Remastered is a fine way to experience the original StarCraft and Brood War campaigns, but it's got a few marks against it. First, you gotta pay for it, which in these trying times can be a big ask for some people, and second because it's still based on the original StarCraft engine. That might be the best way to imitate the game's original 'feel,' but some players might want something with a bit more visual fidelity. And maybe some 3D models while we're at it.
Enter StarCraft Mass Recall. This mod transplants the entire StarCraft and Brood War expansions into StarCraft 2, which means you get access to all the quality enhancements that come from using StarCraft 2's engine. And best of all, you can even play StarCraft Mass Recall using the free StarCraft 2 Starter Edition, so there's no need to put any money down.
Mass Recall includes all the original cut scenes, the entire single-player campaigns for both StarCraft and the Brood War expansion, and even nine additional campaign missions that were never found in the original StarCraft. Six are from a 1998 demo campaign, and three were cut from the final game.
A talented group of modders has been keeping StarCraft Mass Recall up to date for years, with the latest version seeing its v8.0 Anniversary Edition release just a few days ago. And along with it, you can also download the 30-mission bonus campaign 'Enslavers Redux' based on the original Enslavers custom maps from SarCraft and Dark Vengeance maps in Brood War.
Considering this is pretty much the only new StarCraft 2 content anyone will get for the foreseeable future, we highly recommend fans get this downloaded for their holiday-season playthroughs.
And in case you were looking for something a little different, there's also the Ark Star mod that turns StarCraft 2 into a turn-based RPG.
